Corcovado National Park
Corcovado is one of the most spectacular national parks in Costa Rica. Located on the Osa Peninsula on the southern Pacific coast, it’s probably the best park in Costa Rica for wildlife watching.
The park can be accessed by boat leaving from Puerto Jimenez, Drake, Sierpe, or from La Leona, Los Patos, San Pedrillo and Dos Brazos de Río Tigre, by land.

There are 3 ways to get to Puerto Jimenez:
1 – Aircraft: Two private companies offer direct flights to Puerto Jimenez from San Jose, (they take around 40 minutes)

2-Car: By car from San Jose to Puerto Jimenez takes around 6 hours.
3-Buses: You can check the website www.thebusschedule.com/cr/ for bus connections to Puerto Jimenez.
Although medical insurance is not essential, we highly recommend that travelers take out medical insurance, given that the activities are carried out in environments with wildlife and conditions different from what you will be used to, so it is advisable to be prepared for any unforeseen event. Corcovado Tours has a liability insurance.
- An insulated water bottle.
- Insect repellent.
- Water-proof hiking sandals to get on and off the boat since in places like Drake and Sirena there is no dock, they will also help you crossing rivers.
- A waterproof bag (recommended).
- Headlamp (recommended)
- Binoculars (recommended).
- Hiking boots.
- Vaseline to prevent blisters on your feet.
- Bring a backpack and not a suitcase, since the boat leaves you in the beach, 1 kilometer away from the station.
Smoking and alcoholic beverages are not allowed.
Walking at night is not allowed.
Disposable plastic bottles are not allowed.
Throwing toilet paper or sanitary pads in the toilet is not permitted.
Bringing food is not allowed inside the Sirena station.
